Not much in the mood today for a long recap of last nights game in Ottawa. Let's not make too much of it. The Penguins were pretty much putrid last night, but that has been a rarity this season. After a long stretch of punishing other teams for every mistake they make, the tables were flipped on the Penguins last night in an 8-4 loss. So I will be very brief in the interest of looking forward to tonight's game. The good included Matt Cooke scoring two goals AGAIN, improving his career high total to 19. Sidney Crosby broke his overhyped goal scoring drought last night, and had a beautiful behind the back pass to Cooke, setting up his second goal of the evening. Pascal Dupuis continued his hot hand and scoring streak adding an assist in the game last night. And Deryk Engelland somehow in that mess remained a plus player for the evening, continuing to be rock steady for Pittsburgh on the blue line. The bad included a porous defense and a particularly poor showing by Brooks Orpik and Zybnek Michalek. Also, Brad Thiessen, though hung out to dry a few times, looked totally overwhelmed and out of place in the net. The top line was not a factor, a rarithy this season. There were more two on ones allowed than a day on PornHub. Steve Sullivan had an undisclosed injury in the second period. Okay, that is enough of that shit! Tonight, brings in what seems to be my annual birthday trip to the arena to see the Penguins play the Devils. I am hoping to like my gift today. I am asking for a victory, no doubt. If I may be so bold, I would like to see Staal get a goal, Cooke get his 20th, Crosby get a goal, and Geno rack up at least 3 points. I may be a little greedy, but it does not hurt to ask! GO PENS!
