The Best Team in Hockey..........to NEVER win anything

Wow, this would be like shooting fish in a barrel..........I will let it pass, because you all can run with this one without me...........

If you read Ted Leonsis' blog, the Capitals have arrived, and all of the bandwagon fools who love them should celebrate this fact................Hey, it would be hard to argue that the Caps have been one of the elite teams this year in the NHL, maybe even the best. But if memory serves, the Boston Bruins were in a very similar position at this time last year..........and I do not recall them hoisting the hardware in June.........I will look up the stats, but I am sure that the Presidents trophy winner does not win the Stanley Cup very often all things considered. Their fans seem to think that the path to the Cup will be just be a joyride for their beloved Caps. I do know that the Caps are on a short list of teams that should be considered front runners for the Cup, but their goaltending and defense do not make them a sure bet to come out of the East, much less win the Cup. I am sure that teams like Pittsburgh, New Jersey, and Philadelphia will have something to say about that! I am really praying that Philly comes in as the 8th seed in the conference, and the Caps get to open their playoff run against the Flyers, like the Pens did last year. I still think the Flyers will be a dangerous and very physical team in the playoffs, despite a mediocre season thus far, and I would enjoy watching these two pound on each other to start the playoffs............The Devils have a great goaltender, stifling defense, and now some additonal scoring punch, so I am sure that they will have something to say about the Caps moving on. Finally, the Penguins have sent the Craps packing 7 of 8 times in the spring, including last season. Despite the fact that the Caps were 3-0-1 against the Pens in the regular season, and that they went up 2-0 in the series, they were as usual Pensbitches in the end. Whoever comes out of the East is likely to face Chicago, Vancouver, or San Jose, and any team coming out of that conference will not be an easy task for the Eastern Conference Champ.

I will enjoy reading all of the whining and crying that will surely come out of DC when the Caps act like, well......the Caps, and disappoint again this spring!
