The teams don't like each other. The fans generally don't like each other. It is only mid December, but this one feels bigger than that. At this point in time the Penguins sit atop the NHL with a 21-8-2 record and 44 points. The Flyers are right behind them with 43 points and a 19-7-5 record. The winner remains atop the conference and league, the loser falls to 4th in the conference despite having more points than either Montreal who leads the Northeast or Washington who leads the Southeast. With the possible exception of Washington, no group of fans in the NHL would rather see Crosby's point scoring streak end on their ice than those loveable Flyers fanatics. They are also a creative bunch, who have spent a lot of time coming with creative chants like, uh, Crosby sucks! Then there is all time favorite, Crosby sucks, and finally, their best of all, Crosby sucks! At the same time, there is no team that Crosby torches more than the Flyers, so something will have to give! Should be as good a hockey game as one could expect in mid-December.
